Speaking & Keynotes · Stay In The Room™

Not from

the stage.

From inside

the room.

Adelle does not deliver talks about resilience. She delivers an argument — one that challenges how business, leadership and medicine have understood resilience for decades.

Her keynotes are built from lived experience, applied practice and emerging academic work. They are designed to leave audiences not just inspired, but repositioned — with a fundamentally different way of understanding what resilience is, what it demands, and what it makes possible.

BBC broadcaster. National campaign contributor. Speaker across business networks, councils and leadership forums. Guest Lecturer, Kent Business School.

Keynote Topics

Three territories. One consistent argument.

Each keynote can be delivered as a standalone talk, adapted for a panel, or expanded into a workshop or half-day session. All are grounded in the StrongHER Resilience System™ and the emerging ERIM academic model.

Keynote 01

Resilience Is Not A Mindset. It Is Infrastructure.

The keynote that repositions resilience as a business-critical capability — not a wellbeing concept.

This is the foundational argument. The one that challenges everything audiences think they know about resilience — and offers a structured, practical alternative that organisations and individuals can actually build.

Adelle makes the case that the resilience conversation has been captured by wellness culture, positive psychology, and a fundamentally misguided belief that the right mindset is enough. For businesswomen facing serious disruption, it is not. What holds them in leadership is infrastructure: a system built through daily action across four interconnected pillars that are already in place when the storm arrives.

This keynote introduces the StrongHER Resilience System™ and the ERIM model, placing Adelle’s lived experience alongside academic positioning and real organisational application.

AUDIENCE LEAVES WITH

  • A fundamentally repositioned understanding of what resilience is and is not
  • The four-pillar framework they can begin building immediately
  • The business case for resilience as organisational infrastructure
  • Language to recognise and address resilience gaps in their teams and themselves

Keynote 02

Stay In The Room. Leading When Life Disrupts Everything.

For women navigating the invisible weight of leading through disruption — and the organisations that need to understand what that actually looks like.

Women rarely face just one challenge at a time. Alongside running businesses, leading teams and building careers, many are simultaneously navigating motherhood, menopause, divorce, grief, chronic illness or caregiving responsibilities. Often several of these at once.

From the outside, life can appear business as usual. On the inside, it feels entirely different. This keynote names that experience clearly — not as a vulnerability, but as a leadership reality that organisations urgently need to understand and respond to differently.

Drawing on lived experience, coaching practice and the Stay In The Room™ body of work, Adelle makes the case for a different kind of support — one that protects women’s economic participation, not just their wellbeing. Because no woman should have to choose between her health and her livelihood.

Recognition of the invisible leadership challenge millions of women face daily

Keynote 03

Cancer Should Not Mean Business Collapse.

The business continuity case for supporting business owners through serious illness — and what the gap in current provision is costing us.

When a business owner receives a cancer diagnosis, two things are at risk: their health, and everything they have built. The medical system focuses on the former. Almost no one focuses on the latter — the business that may represent their income, their identity, their family’s security, and decades of work.

As CEO and Co-Founder of Stronger Together Through Cancer CIC — supporting Kent business owners to remain economically active during cancer — Adelle speaks from the centre of this gap. Working alongside Macmillan teams, hospitals, local authorities and business networks, she has developed a model that integrates business coaching with healthcare support systems.

This keynote makes the case for why the voluntary sector, local government, healthcare systems and business networks need to close this gap — and what a joined-up support model looks like in practice.

AUDIENCE LEAVES WITH

  • N
The scale and nature of the gap in support for business owners with cancer
  • N
A model for integrated business and health support that already works
  • N
The case for cross-sector collaboration between healthcare and business support
  • N
Practical steps for organisations who want to address this in their communities
